Touchdown

I'm finally back on Hawaiian soil. I've missed you Honolulu, but I could do without the traffic. I guess I'm spoiled after being in Guam for two months.

A whirlwind of what's happened in the past two weeks...

So I indulged in some island food right before I left Guam. My mom made some lobsters and steamed some Palauan crab (excuse my spelling) called Ugaib or Ukaib. It was truly amazing. To top it all off, a family friend made us tamales!

Upon arriving in Los Angeles, my brother insisted we visit Universal Studios. I highly recommend el Mercado Chocolaté, which is just outside the theme park. They sell candy from Mexico and all kinds of la Virgen de Guadalupe memorabilia.

Finally, we made it to San Diego for the opening ceremony of the 2010 Callaway Junior World Golf Championship. It was fun to watch little kids from all over the world network with each other. I felt proud of my brother after he spoke a bit of Spanish and Portuguese with his golf mates. The little tyrant is growing up!

Sad Panda.

Amidst connecting flights and breathing the same air as hundreds, (I've finally made it to San Diego)...I managed to bring the flu with me! Hoo. Ray. Photos of my brother's tournament to come soon. Unfortunately, the photos of me wrapped in the hotel blanket, Kleenex box in tow, will not make press time.

Saipan & its Japanese food

"Fast Food" at Himowari in Saipan. Chamorros sure know their Japanese food.
My godsister Maria & mother love this place.

Guam Premium Outlet

Ever since the World Cup started, my brother & I have been checking out the merchandise at Sports America. Here he is fooling around.

Euphoria

My cousin Momo took me to see a drag show at Euphoria, a club in upper Tumon (or is it Tamuning?). It was truly a cultural experience! These ladies know how to transform themselves and perform! This comical bunch performs every Thursday at midnight. It's definitely a must see!

The thing that surprised me the most was that a lot of straight people come out to see them perform. This show is definitely NOT exclusive to the gay community.
[Momo & I enjoying ourselves]

¡Serpiente!

You know you're in Guam when you find a snake in your front lawn.
Luckily, it's dead. It was hanging out on our telephone pole while it rained and it got zapped.
